Serious stories deserve craft, courage, and clarity
I am a filmmaker, senior producer, director, and editor with more than 20 years’ experience in international current affairs, investigative journalism, and documentary filmmaking.
As part of the launch team at Al Jazeera English, I helped establish People & Power as one of the channel’s flagship current affairs strands. Over nearly two decades, I produced, directed, edited, and oversaw the delivery of more than 300 films for global audiences, covering everything from field production to final QC and broadcast delivery.
Blending hard journalism with cinematic filmmaking and digital strategy
Long before short-form video became central to digital strategy, I was writing short scripts, cutting teasers, and shaping the opening intros for People & Power. Finding the hook, the rhythm, and the clearest way into complex stories taught me how to create sharp short-form content, trailers, and social media pieces that connect deeply with modern audiences.
I move seamlessly between journalism, cinema, and the digital world, navigating between the newsroom and the edit suite, always on the lookout for the human story.
Independent Cinema, Theatre, and Global Projects
Alongside my broadcast and documentary career, I have directed and produced my first feature film, produced three other independent feature films, and staged two theatre productions at the National Theatre of Kosovo. My articles for the Balkan press and international media have strengthened my instincts for clear human storytelling, the very same drive behind my cinematic work.
My projects look at conflict, politics, human rights, corruption, and post-war memory, with a particular focus on the UK, the Balkans, and the Middle East. Working internationally across Europe, Africa, and other high-risk environments, I combine editorial judgement with deep, hands-on craft, handling everything from story development and scripting to editing, compliance, and digital strategy.
